The only natural lake in Texas — a hauntingly beautiful cypress swamp draped in Spanish moss unlike anywhere else in the Lone Star State.

Caprock Canyons State Park and Trailway lie along the Caprock Escarpment, a long, slender formation of rock that marks the transition between the western High Plains (known as the Llano Estacado) and the easterly Rolling Plains.

Located on a high bluff above Lower Guale Mesa and near the edge of a Rancherias Canyon, Guale 2 campsite has dramatic vistas in every direction. This is the most remote, and by far the most spectacular campsite in the entire park.
